How to Shave Your Pubic Area – for Men

Preparation and the “Tools of the Trade”

As with any other thing you do, the tools you use and the quality of them will have a direct impact in your success. And well… success is a pretty big deal in pubic shaving, since you will be free of irritation, cuts, nicks and the problems that go with them. Let’s take a look at them:

Scissors. They are much needed for the first step of this adventure, which involves trimming down the pubic hair so it is easier to shave off later.

Razor Blade.  Using a razor down there is pretty tricky, so I recommend you use a new one of a pretty good quality. This will ensure you won’t have to go over the same area several times, something that leads to quick irritation. Personally, I like to use the Norelco Bodygroom as a replacement of scissors and razor blade, since it provides 100% secure trimming and shaving in those difficult areas.

Shaving Cream.  Use a quality shaving cream.  Many men don’t know the importance of a good shaving cream, but it in fact helps you soften the hair down there, which is very thick and unmanageable. You can use one of the best shaving cream for men we have reviewed on the site, as they are also perfect for sensitive areas.

After Care.  Once you have finished, you will have to take care of your skin with a moisturizer at least to help fighting the itching during the first few days.

Male Pubic Hair Shaving – Step by Step

Well, now that we took a long at the tools, it is time to focus on the process. Here we have laid it out for you in simple and easy-to-follow guide.

  1. Take a hot bath.  This will help you clean the area and at the same time will help opening up the pores to make shaving easier.  Don’t skip this step!
  2. Once you finish bathing, it is time to start trimming the hair on the pubic area.  The goal is not to actually take hair off this way, but to make the hair as short as you can safely can in order to avoid irritation while shaving.
  3. Now it is time to apply the shaving cream.  Make sure it lathers up nicely and cover the area. You can achieve better results by massaging the area to be shaved for about a minute before actually starting to shave.
  4. Shaving time! Remember, take your time and don’t rush until you know what you are doing.  During the shaving process you may need to move your scrotum to reach some areas.  Do it gently and try to not pass the razor over and over again on the same area.
  5. Once you finish, it is time to give your balls some love.  In this step you will apply gently moisturizer on the shaved skin, and in this step I also apply a special powder for this purpose called Balla Powder for Men. I totally recommend it, as it can help you reduce itching dramatically.

Well, as you can see, if you want to learn how to shave your pubic area for men, it is actually pretty simple.  But you can encounter a lot of problems if you don’t follow an essential rule:

Too many problems stem out of rushed shaving sessions that are painful and end up taking more time than a process taken with care and patience.
